hahaha...i dont know who was that guy/girl that the senior was talking abt...

but it is not my intention to badmouthing him/her...just posted the story here to share with all of you abt what our senior is thinking abt us.And dont be to overreactive toward my conversation with him.In that conversation i just try to be as much as a "humor person"  that can i be for me to enjoy the chat...so no offence Xd.

So...So...What is the difference between xanthelasma and tendon Xanthoma?

This is xanthelasma/xanthelasmata.

(refer tally & O'connor CE pg.41)

Xantelasmata are intracutaneous yellow cholestrol deposits around the eyes and are relatively common.It can be a normal variant or may indicate type II or type III hyperlipidemia.But,they are not always assc. with hyperlipidimia.So xanthelasmata is quite important thing to look for while assessing a patient that is suspected to be a heart disease as increase in the composition of lipids in our body can lead to atherosclerosis and thus cause hypertension and hypertrophy of left ventricle and in severe cases it can also cause ischemic ht disease(due to hyperthrophy of LV),Myocardial infarction(coronary obstruction) and ht Failure.

What abt tendon xanthomata?

i didn't found a nice pic on the net...so just refer to tally & O'Connor pg.35.

xanthomata  ---->  A xanthoma (or xanthomata or xanthomatosis) (from Greek xanthos= "yellow") is a deposition of yellowish cholesterol-rich material in tendons and other body parts in various disease states:

tendon xanthomata?

---> it is basically a deposition of lipid in tendon that make the tendon appears yellowish...thats all... 

in Tally & O' Connor there are two more xanthomata which are palmar xanthomata and tuberoeruptive xanthomata(over the elbows and knee) which signifiy the characteristic of type III hyperlipidemia while tendon xanthoma signifies the characteristic of type II xanthomata.
